Week 9 Part A: Blogs, Vlogs, Podcasts & Webinars

When posting on social media, sometimes adding a personal touch to a post can bring in a sentimental feel. However, it is important to notice that the social media page should still be professional ad stick to business information. For my business, posting a group of girls on their bachelorette party at one of our stays can be heartfelt. Another example would be posting something introducing myself and the face behind the business. This can show customers who is behind it all and the heart behind the business. Other businesses might post customer of the week or something more serious would posting about how they helping to end a problem in the world. Other businesses, like bigger more corporate places, might not be able to be as personal. Companies like Amazon or Walmart wouldn't get to be as personal because they have a lot of stores around the country. Whereas a smaller business has more personality and can show off the individual employees or owners.

  1. Great post! and yes putting some personal touches to each post makes it more fun and engaging and does not come off as dry and boring. I also agree that us as a small bussiness benefit more when it comes to personal touches since we are still trying to gather loyalty from our future customers.

  2. I think posts from bigger companies are just to promote products, though I have seen some sites do '“employee spotlight"“ features, where they try to showcase the people helping behind the scenes. It feels like false sentimentality and manipulation and the intention is obvious, but it also communicates that they're not just a faceless corporation.
