Week 3 Part B: Developing a Brand

After researching other businesses and their brands, it gave me a pretty good idea of what works and is visually please and what isn't as user or eye friendly. I do not have a business yet, but if I were to start one it be something in real estate. My career goal is real estate and it is something I am very passionate about. I am in the process of getting my license and am excited to build up my brand.

In the future, my real estate business will include buying and selling houses along with owning rental properties and maybe something in design. My logo would be something simple and straight to the point like my initials. I imagine something like, "K. Ford"  or just a "K.F." It was be a black and white logo with a hint of green. I like color but not too much. The logo might be a simple square or something involving an olive branch.

My overall color scheme would be neutral boho. Colors that might catch someone's attention but isn't anything too loud. I am a huge fan of boho colors right now. Sage green or rustic reds are colors that stand out to me. I like western patterns and that rustic appeal. My business would feel homey and comfortable. I would want someone to click on my website and feel like they already knew the place. The fonts I would use would be something that is clean and easy to read. Fonts I found that I liked are called "Courier" or "Raleway", but I would keep looking until I found something I really loved.

My brand would be that eye catching appeal. If someone were in the market to buy a house, I would hope they would stumble upon my website and see that the company is trendy yet professional. I would want to be recognized by the homes I have sold in the past or homes we have designed. We would use word of mouth advertising in hopes that our clients would recommend us to a friend and so on. Real Estate is a very competitive market and to stand out, your brand needs to be different. I would make sure to differentiate myself from other companies by offering better goods and services or maybe offering them for a lower price.

My business would be innovative. As soon as a possible client arrives on the site, I would leave  contact information and include the wait time for a response. It would give reassurance and reduce the anxiety. Buying or selling a home is stressful and I would make sure to create my business environment a place to feel welcomed and at home!
