Week 4 Post 1

When I first click onto to Subway, I am greeted with a 10% off coupon if I sign up. This requires and email and name information. The Hungry Bear sandwiches is a smaller business and customers are just greeted with pictures and information of where the restaurant can be found. While both places sell sandwiches, one is a lot bigger than the other. I would say both other target market is hungry people however the Hungry Bear explains that they offer the best subs in San Diego. They have the more local appeal and feel more home-y. Subway's main advertisement is that everything they sell is fresh. They say their tuna is freshly caught and the importance of sustainability. Subway markets more towards health and healthy eating whereas the Hungry Bear is more about being local.

Subway's page has loads of information. They have multiple pages where customers can learn where their tuna is caught and their journey through finding sustainability. They offer a rewards program. Hungry Bear is a lot more simple. Even their "About" page is a small paragraph that doesn't tell much about the company.

I think both of these restaurants offer healthy and fresh sandwiches. Overall, they sell similar sandwiches. Subway allows the customers to customize the sandwich and Hungry Bear is little more simple and only offers a set menu. They both want to serve the hungry and please people by making delicious sandwiches. I think Hungry Bear has more of that local feel and has a sense of character where Subway is your generic Sandwich place that almost everyone knows about. Subway's campaign is to Eat Fresh and they explain that to the customer on their website. Hungry Bear gives little information, but still has the overall point that any restaurant has.
