Amazon stays active in their platforms and continually interacts with their followers and customers by posting and keeping them updating. They equally use each platform and advertising these outlets through their websites.
After researching each of these unique businesses, I found that using social media helps advertise and show customers a better look into what they are purchasing. I know that if I am trying a new business, I will look into their instagram or facebook to see a menu or other products they have.
After looking into each of these businesses I found that smaller, more local businesses are more personal and have more interaction in the comments with followers where larger companies might post to the general public.
I also found that Twitter is not as active than Instagram and Facebook in most businesses. Instagram also was the highest in followers. I think Instagram is an easy communication app and is easy for the business side and followers side.
ReplyDeleteYou made a good point that small business owners will respond to the regular fan base. It feels personal, whereas a larger company may have continuous interaction, but more for the general public. Which do you prefer? Big companies are trying to add a personal touch; for example, Amazon does an excellent job.
Cheers!

You make a really good point about how big vs small companies interact with their customer base, I never really thought of that but it's absolutely true. Instagram seems to be the best option for any size business, especially since it's super easy to turn yours into a business account and communicate with customers there.
ReplyDeleteSomething I've noticed as well is that Instagram involves way more interaction that other social media sites and for my businesses its the application that had the highest amount of followers as well. It's funny you wrote about Buffalo Exchange, I never thrift shop that much and was actually in there a few weeks ago and saw some nice pieces that I picked up.
ReplyDeleteHi Kate,
ReplyDeleteI'm also a big fan of seeing more personalized responses from companies; I'd prefer that over a cookie-cutter response any day.
Instagram looks like the best way to go in terms of interaction but I wonder if all the efforts that go into the other platforms really fall as flat as the analytics that we were able to see. Would be super interesting to see the numbers that these companies see on their side too!
