Week 1A: My Blog Theme
The theme of my blog is titled: SoHo Dark. It consists of browns and neutrals, which is really my favorite color right now. I looked around the site to find the perfect theme and even chose a different one at first. I first chose something very blue and bright with a sandy beach as the background and I went through every advanced theme and tweaked it so it felt a little different. However, when I felt satisfied and got the theme just to my liking, I went to save my changes and the option didn't work and I couldn't save it.
This got me thinking into giving up and closing my computer for the night like I usually would. But I decided to give it another try. Except, I started to think of how I really wanted this blog to look and I wanted it to reflect me. And to reflect me the most, it would using dark colors like brown.
I like brown. I wear mostly dark colors. Although I have bright blonde hair, I find myself really only wearing color that are plain and neutral. I think it is a simpler way to dress. And there is nothing wrong with bright colors, but I think neutrals are timeless. A word I have been dwindling a lot on. Finding jewelry that's timeless or shoes that I can wear two years from now. So I went with how I felt and chose a theme that felt timeless.
Hey Kate,
ReplyDeleteProps for giving it another try and not giving up! Your blog is really nice, I love the image you have it's soothing and the colors on your page and easy on the eyes. I'm the same way with wear neutral or dark clothing for the most, I feel like you can never go wrong with those colors and they always be in style.
Hi Kate,
ReplyDeleteWonderful choice in theme for your blog and it definitely suits how you've described yourself. Like Terrell, I commend you for customizing a second time to better fit your vision. It's a very good practice to take a break from your work and come back to it in a couple of hours or a day. Sometimes you'll find ways to improve or realize that you'd like to take it into a completely different direction.
Hi Kate!
ReplyDeleteYour theme makes me think of home and love. I imagine a person living here may receive these quilts as gifts from a friend. I love practical art. I would use them to keep me warm.
We picked the same theme! YAYYYY!
